United States
OFAC says sections 1 and 2 of E.O. 13067 and all of E.O. 13412 were revoked with effect from 12 October 2017 1. Since then, US persons "are not broadly prohibited" from transactions with Sudan or its government that the old Sudanese Sanctions Regulations alone barred 1. OFAC removed those regulations, 31 CFR part 538, on 29 June 2018 1.
Targeted designations continue under E.O. 14098, titled "Imposing Sanctions on Certain Persons Destabilizing Sudan and Undermining the Goal of a Democratic Transition" 2,3. Recent dated actions are below.
| Date | Action |

| 7 January 2025 4 | Secretary of State Antony Blinken determined that members of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and allied militias committed genocide. United Nations
Resolution 1556 (2004), adopted on 30 July 2004, first imposed an arms embargo on non-governmental entities and individuals in Darfur, including the Janjaweed 5. The 1591 committee was set up on 29 March 2005 5. Under resolution 1591, states must bar entry or transit of designated individuals and freeze the assets of designated individuals and entities 5.
Resolution 2830 (2026) was adopted on 8 October 2026 at the Council's 10235th meeting 7. It renews the measures until 11 December 2026 and extends the Panel of Experts mandate to 11 January 2027 7. It refers to an earlier 2026 resolution, 2828 7.
The two UN pages give different counts. The committee's main page says three individuals are on the list, designated by resolution 1672 (2006) 5. The committee's narrative summaries page shows 13 individual entries, checked on 20 October 2026 6.

United Kingdom
The UK regime is the Sudan (Sanctions) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020, SI 2020/753 8. Designated persons face an asset freeze, a ban on making funds available, director disqualification and a travel ban 8. Military goods, technology and related services for use in Sudan are restricted, as is help that enables armed hostilities in Sudan 8.
The GOV.UK notices page, updated on 16 July 2026, lists these 2026 changes 9.
European Union
The Council adopted Decision (CFSP) 2023/2135 on 9 October 2023 10. It is the EU's own framework for listing people over Sudan 10.
Council Decision (CFSP) 2026/1396 of 22 June 2026 records that the UN committee added four persons on 28 April 2026 10. The EU added three of them through Implementing Decision (CFSP) 2026/1049 on 7 May 2026 and the fourth through Implementing Decision (CFSP) 2026/1390 on 22 June 2026 10. Decision 2026/1396 then deleted that fourth person's entry, Algony Hamdan DAGALO MUSA, from the annex of Decision 2023/2135 10.
